Safe Prescribing Monitoring

To make sure your medication is working safely and effectively, we sometimes need to check things like your blood tests, blood pressure, or weight.

For most patients, this monitoring can happen once a year at your annual review (usually around your birthday). However, some medications or health conditions may require more frequent checks.

This includes certain higher-risk medications (like methotrexate, sulfasalazine, leflunomide, anticoagulants, or ACE inhibitors), or long-term conditions such as kidney disease or heart failure.

If you’re due for more regular monitoring, we’ll send you an invitation for the necessary checks.

Thank you for helping us keep your treatment safe and effective.
